I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Ex two time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
